Sorry for the lag time with no dialog, there just hasn't been much to talk about during our off season. As you may or may not know, the 2012 IMBCS schedule is set. IMBCS #7 at Seven Oaks Recreation, will be held on August 5th, 2012. Specific race details will follow at a later date.

Hello All...

I wanted to thank everyone who came out and participated in the 9th edition of our fine race! We had excellent weather and the best trail conditions, that I can remember. I have posted race results and need to thank my sponsors, ONE MORE TIME.

Hello All...

I've been a Mowing Mad Man at Seven Oaks this week. The trails are in the best shape that I've seen in years! All I have left to do is mark some area's (mainly start/finish line) and we can go racing.

Just a reminder that this is a rain or shine event, the trails are bone dry and some rain would actually do it some good.

I just wanted to let everybody, know that the trails at Seven Oaks are in fantastic condition! Kyle, Jared and myself, got several problem area's massaged/reworked and I plan on getting the west end and 2-bridge sections mowed this week.

Just a reminder that the 2011 24hr race is from 10am Saturday, to 10am Sunday this year. Registration will open at 7am on Saturday and end at 8:45am.

Here is the info for the upcoming IMBCS #7 series race, that will be held at Seven Oaks on 8/7/11.

Registration will open at 8am, the day of the race ($25 registration fee).

Start times and categories are as follows:

Cat 3 Men and Cat 3 Women - 10am

Cat 2 Men Open, Cat 2 Men 35+, Cat 2 Men 45+, Juniors, and Cat 2 Women Open
- 12:10

Comp Men and Singlespeed Open - 12:05

Pro Men, Cat 1 Men Open, Cat 1 Men 35+, Pro Women and Cat 1 Women Open - 12

We will be staging the race at the bottom of the ski hill, near the club house. We have plenty of cash and prizes to give away.

Hello All!

Just wanted to remind everyone, that pre-registration ends at midnight, July 31st. After that, the price will go up, so save some money and get pre-registered now. Online registration will close and you will only be able to register for the race, the day of the race (guaranteed t/shirts for pre-registered riders only).

The trail is in awesome shape! We also have about .5 miles of new trail that should be open for this years event. A couple of re-routs have already been addressed and the trail has been trimmed out for your riding pleasure!

This is a very customized technique and is different for each individual.

Pre-event:

Duration 15 min. fast paced full body
When: 30–45 minutes before an athlete starts their portion of the event.
Intra/Inter event:
"recover from the preceding activity, and prepare for the activity coming up"

Duration: 5 - 10 min. focuses on the major muscles stressed
When: between events or in time-outs to help athletes .
Post-event
"It is designed to sedate your nervous system and to help flush any
toxins out of your system. Receiving this massage helps to decrease
the severity of soreness felt over the next few days"

When: 30–90 minutes after the event.

Hello all,

Several of us made it up to Seven Oaks today for some much needed trail recon and maintenance. We got both bridges put back into place over Coal Creek. So as long as Mother Nature cooperates, we will be running the full course for the 3/6hr race, this Saturday. We also got a couple of reroutes done and there were also a some more tree's that were down, that required the chain saw, for removal. Over all, the trail was very tacky, more than likely, had we raced today, it would have packed in nicely. There is still some mowing that could be done, but overall, things looked really good!

I want to thank Kyle, Scott, Kurt, Jared and Kim for all of their help today! We got a ton done!

Hello all!

I have some details for the 3/6 Hour MTB Race, scheduled for Saturday July 2, 2011 at Seven Oaks Recreation. We will open registration at 8am, the day of the race ($35 per rider). Racing times will be 10am-1pm (3hr race) and 10am-4pm (6hr race). The race is scheduled to be staged from the bottom of the ski hill, near the club house. The length of the race course, will depend on trail conditions, on or near the date of the race. We will have plenty of cash and prizes to give away.

The 2-bridges...

Hello All!

Kyle and I made it up to Seven Oaks, early last week and removed both bridges, from the 2-bridge section. We are trying to be proactive with all things trail related. Removing the bridges early, will hopefully make sure that they don't get damaged in any of our heavy spring/summer rains. As you may or may not know, retrieving the bridges, repairing them or even replacing them, takes a lot of time and money. So if you would like to ride the section, beyond Coal Creek, just make your way across it and enjoy. The plan is to put the bridges back into place, for races only. However, if the weather cooperates, it could be done sooner.

I am looking for someone to handle the food service for the 2011, 24hr MTB Race. I am wanting somebody looking to make a nickle, to handle a lite dinner menu (sandwiches/chips/drinks???) for the evening of 8/20/11, the half-way pasta feed party (10pm Saturday) and breakfast (breakfast burritos/biscuits & gravy/drinks???) for 8/21/11. You will need to provide your own kitchen facilities, as they are not available at Seven Oaks.

It has been determined that a just for fun category was needed for our fine race. So with that in mind, we will be adding a "Recreational Category" for the 9th edition of the 24 Hours of Seven Oaks Mountain Bike Race. It will consist of 5-8 riders per team (male/female/coed), for a single entry fee (yet to be determined). More details will follow as they become available.

It is settled...the 2011 edition of 24 Hours of Seven Oaks Mountain Bike Race will be held August 20-21. Since it is a normal 2-day weekend, the race will run from 10am Saturday, to 10am Sunday. The 12hr race will run from 10am Saturday, to 10pm Saturday. Camping will be available, starting at 12 noon, on 8/19/11 and we will be staging the race from the bottom of the ski hill, just like we have done in the past. More details to follow.
